More Koi

Trying to paint with a palette knife is like trying to paint with all thumbs to me!  I am forcing myself to practice with it and this is my result.  I have a  LONG way to go!

A friend suggested I try painting some koi.  They are beautiful to see but tough to paint.  I see areas I need to work on as I view this on my computer....funny, how you see them then but not while painting.....!?!

Fresh Catch

Whew!  This one took a couple of days and I think I need a break.  I am not accustomed to painting this large (it's large for me).  The photograph just captured my interest.  I love to paint children and this one with her "fresh catch" just tugged at me.  One of my fellow painting friends gave me the reference photo.
