With the mild winter we had, I was pleased to see that my geranium from last summer made it!  I have always loved geraniums and love the red ones the best!

Finished this one today in painting group.  I started on it last week but still haven't gotten back into my daily painting yet, just a lot to do this time of year that distracts me from painting.  I need to get back into it  as there is a show coming up in April that I need to have at least 10 to 15 new paintings for (in a larger format than the 6 x 6 and 5 x 7 pieces I have been doing lately).

Bird Study

Lately I haven't been able to paint much.  We have been busy planning a wedding with all the endless details that involves.    I was attracted to the color in this particular bird (can't remember what kind it is though) and wanted to paint with a loose touch without adding too many details.  That is difficult on birds since I'm tempted to paint in every feather I see.

I have been fiddling with this since Tuesday trying to get it to satisfy me.  I have nothing to show for this week since I have been working on this.  My reference photo was not very good and I have struggled with it.  This pic was taken in den Hague, The Netherlands when we were there two summers ago.  I cropped out a few of the figures that were in there - just too many to deal with!
